This journey begins in the port of Avonmouth, on the Bristol Channel, before following the river to the historic city of Bristol. A few miles to the south, we reach the estate of Tyntesfield. From there, we tour the Iron Age hill fort of Cadbury Camp before passing through Cheddar Gorge, the largest canyon in England. We then continue south to explore the Somerset Levels, an area of wetlands that have been inhabited for half a million years. We cross the sandstone hills of the Quantocks before passing over Minehead and into the Exmoor National Park, with its dramatic coastline, which we follow around to the tiny, world-famous hillside village of Clovelly, where our journey ends.
