Marine Biologist Rachel Carson published her ground-breaking book, Silent Spring, in September 1962. With its eye-opening exposé of the chemical industry’s reckless use of pesticides, the book’s conservation message has resonated down the generations. Eight years later, in 1970, the Environmental Protection Agency was established to clean up the environment and phase out the release of toxic chemicals into the environment.
On April 22nd that same year, some 20 million people took to the streets in the largest single-day protest in history, calling for action on the environment. That day became known as Earth Day. Join MagellanTV in celebration of Earth Day by diving into this curated playlist of titles highlighting both the beauty and fragility of Earth and its ecosystems.
