Intercept : A Century of Signals Intelligence
Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) is the successor to the famous Bletchley Park wartime code-breaking organization. It was set up following WWI in 1919 and is the U.K.'s largest and most secretive intelligence organization. During WWII, it commanded more staff than MI5 and MI6 combined and produced a number of intelligence triumphs and notable failures. Still, little is known about it.
