The Battle of Gettysburg, in July 1863, is considered a major turning point in the Civil War. This film explores Abraham Lincoln's role as commander in chief and his move to counter Confederate General Robert E. Lee's effort to destroy the Union Army. The Battle produced the largest number of casualties in the conflict, and set the stage for one of the most memorable speeches in American history.
