The epic events portrayed in the Hollywood movie Braveheart, directed by Mel Gibson, were only the beginning of the long war for Scottish Independence. After the Scotts finally defeat their English oppressors, the peace is uneasy. The Scotts, led by king Robert Bruce, invade Ireland to make his brother Edward king. The goal: to unite the Celtic nations and drive the British back to their homeland.
