At the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, the sexual revolution took a more societal and legalistic turn. It is not only a matter of changing consciences and morals, as witnessed by the rise of sex education and pornography, but also of transforming laws for greater equality and less discrimination. Sexual revolutions are one and support each other. Feminist struggles to allow abortion as well as the struggles of the early gay movements to decriminalize homosexuality accelerate the process of emancipation - despite the reservations or watchful paternalistic postures of other contesting forces. Yet the stakes are high: it is important to reinvent love, that is, to transform the way we look at others, for greater equality and tolerance. Societal issues have been at the heart of social struggles since the 1980s. The sexual revolution becomes a good indicator of this evolution - the shift, on the threshold of the 21st century, from the right-left oppositions of the 20th century to a division between Conservatives and progressives, on the American model.
Sexual Revolutions Reinventing Love, traces from 1968 to 2018 the process of transformation of sexual revolutions perceived as a marker and a vector of transformations in Western societies at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. Equality, end of the discrimination, spirit of tolerance, new look at the Other are all points of view in these new states of consciousness. Will the 21st century be sexual or will it not be?
