Einsatzgruppen: The Nazi Death Squads
The armies of Adolph Hitler's Third Reich invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941 at the height of World War II. Mobile commandos, the Einsatzgruppen, followed their advance to Stalingrad with the mission of eliminating all Jewish people in the conquered territories. From June 1941 to the end of 1943, these Nazi groups killed close to two million Jews from the Baltic countries to the Black Sea.
