More than 21 years after the UK's worst terrorist atrocity, the Libyan intelligence operative convicted of murdering 270 people has finally died. His victims were heading to New York from London’s Heathrow airport and many were American college students flying home for Christmas. His death will do little to assuage the controversy surrounding his final years and the pain afflicted by the Lockerbie bombing.
